The youngest son of a father who despises him, John Collins hopes to escape his suffocating family life in Victorian England by answering an advertisement offering a job on an Australian outback homestead of a wealthy grazier, Robert Cruikshank. John is swept up in his attraction to Robert, but a chance meeting with a man named Alfie in the back streets of Soho shakes John’s fledgling confidence in male love. John doesn’t know if he’ll find experience with Alfie or love with Robert, but he knows he can’t remain in England, just waiting for his future to arrive.
